Set Me as a Seal Upon Your Heart
Friday, January 22, 2010, the evening after the March For Life
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28)
“’And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, as you stretch forth (your) hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.’ As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. The community of believers was of one heart and mind” (Acts 4:29-32)
I have an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Come to her for wisdom, light and grace.
The words of the song come to mind: “I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have called you, and you are mine!” (referring to Jeremiah 31:3)
I sense the joy God wants us to have as his church. The enemy wants to rob us of our joy.
“Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; our God is merciful. The LORD preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me.” (Psalm 116:5-6)
“Another parable he put before them, saying, ‘The kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.’” (Matthew 13:31-32) The sense is how many seeds have been planted year after year at the March for Life.
“Your own eyes shall see this, and you shall say, ‘Great is the LORD, beyond the border of Israel!’” (Mal 1:5)
My sons and daughters, I want to heal the depths o fyour heart tonight. Give me permission.
Someone here is suffering from physical sight problems, maybe cataracts. God wants to heal you.
God is jealous for our love. He wants us to love him passionately, like a lover. Cast out any idol.
“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm” (Song of Songs 8:6)
